When I was a kid (much longer ago than I care to discuss) you could pay $20 to see five big-name bands, like Ted Nugent, Journey, AC/DC Cheap Trick and another not-so-famous band. That was a general admission show so no reserved seats (the general admission seats went when some kids trampled each other to death at a Who concert in Ohio or something).
Rush is coming to the city I live in, and I heard on the radio that tickets start at $80 each for reserved seats!
"Dayum concerts have gotten expensive" I exclaimed, "it's because, if it is an older band, ticket sales will fund their retirement, and if it's a young band, ticket sales will fund their stint in rehab" my wife said. I think she may be right.
Ticket brokers get all the good seats, and get rich selling them to fools that like to see a show!
Greed is the downfall of civilization.
